Symbols
Symbols are marks, signs, or words that have a particular meaning to those who see them.
We tend to use symbols to create linkages between different concepts and experiences. They can indicate something common in our everyday life, such as a STOP sign.
Consider the symbol used for an ice-cream, a phone call, emergency department; or major companies such as Facebook, or Apple.
Logos
Logos are made up of symbols and usually carry an emotional response and communitcate visually. They are distinctive, appropriate, practical, graphic and simple in form, and convey an intended message or concept. Football clubs use logos and symbols to hype up their supporters.
